FAQs

Why is flushing good?

When you flush the flushable, it enters the wastewater sewage system and ends up in either your local wastewater facility or your septic tank.

Once at the wastewater treatment facility, the waste goes through a number of physical, chemical and biological processes which sanitizes the wastewater and removes solids, pathogens and odors.

The ‘solids’ in this whole process is called ‘sludge’ to those in the industry. After further processing and treatment, the sludge can be turned into Biosolids. This nutrient rich, organic material makes great fertilizer. Think of it as recycling to the max while reducing the need for chemical and artificial fertilizers. In effect, your waste becomes food for plants. Now that’s a sustainable diaper system.

If you use a septic tank, it requires emptying periodically. Typically, the contents are sent to the local wastewater treatment plant, so the process is the same. For more details regarding use of gDiapers in septic tanks, click here
