FAQs

What is tree-infested plumbing and why is it bad news for gDiapers?

This is when a tree actually grows roots through a leaky joint in the drainage pipes that carry sewage from the house. It’s amazing how industrious tree roots can be once they find their way into a pipe. Once roots are in drainage pipes, they swell up to better absorb water. This is bad news and often one of the leading causes of blocked drainage pipes.

A gDiaper flushable will not make it through a tree-infested pipe. There is a slightly higher volume of material with our flushable than a normal wad of toilet paper.  If you know you have this problem or suspect you do, or are aware of some other difficulty with your drainage pipes, we recommend that you have it repaired before flushing gDiapers. In the meantime, you can compost the wet ones or even throw some away.

We also ask that you do not flush through non-standard plumbing, which includes any grinders or house traps.  Even if you can't flush you can still breathe easy that you're not putting more plastic in to the landfills.  And your baby's bottom will benefit from the breathability of a plastic-free diaper.
