Did you catch us on the Today Show?

The word on the street is that gDiapers are cute, colorful and eco-friendly.

And if you’re a blogger, blog away and let the world know why you like gDiapers.

Sure, flushing takes more steps than tossing a disposable in the garbage, but you’re putting waste where it belongs, in the toilet. And you’re not contributing to the landfill. As we like to say, for a happy planet, flush.

gDiapers Flushable Diapers Featured on
NBC’s Today Show

PORTLAND, Ore., May 2, 2006 – Portland-based gDiapers, the new eco-friendly flushable diaper, was featured on NBC’s Today Show (the nation’s #1 rated morning show) this morning.  gDiapers are a new hybrid diaper option for parents, consisting of a washable outer pant and flushable refill.  Flushing is significant in that 50 million waste-filled disposable diapers go into landfills every day in the US, flushable diapers put waste where it belongs, in the wastewater treatment process, not the landfill.  The gDiapers were blindly distributed by the Today Show to two families in New York to try for one week.  The segment emphasized that gDiapers are a viable alternative for eco-friendly parents who are seeking a more earth-friendly solution and who want to make a difference. The piece also concluded that in addition to being good for the planet, gDiapers are fashionable.

gDiapers are currently available online at gdiapers.com and in natural products retail stores throughout the West.  Flushable diaper starter kits contain 2 washable pants, 10 flushables, and 1 swishstick and sell for suggested retail of $24.99.  gDiapers flushable refills contain 40 small refills, or 32 Medium/Large refills for $14.49.

The piece included retail footage of Portland-based New Seasons Market; and gDiapers packaging designed by Sandstrom Design.  Hannah Andersson provided clothing for some of the children featured in the show. Banana Republic provided clothes for CEO Jason Graham-Nye.

About gDiapers

In 2004, Jason and Kimberly Graham-Nye bought the worldwide rights (excluding Australia and New Zealand) to manufacture, distribute and market the flushable diaper design first introduced in Australia in 1991. They discovered the design after the birth of their son, Fynn, prompted them to find a diapering option that worked for their baby, for them and for the planet. Since buying the rights, they have moved from Australia to the United States where they have established the gDiapers headquarters.  They chose the United States for its market potential, considering it’s the country with the most disposable diaper users and Portland for its reputation for being an epicenter for sustainable and environmentally friendly businesses.  For more information, visit www.gdiapers.com
