What has been your worst diaper experience?

When River was a few months old I drove out to visit my mom, an hour away, cloth diapers packed, just in case. As soon as I arrived at mom's house River wanted to nurse. Eating always had the power to "clean him out", and this day was no exception. While nursing he unloaded BIG TIME, so much that it came out the back and out the legs and all over my leg. My mom came running with towels. We cleaned up Riv, got a new cloth diaper on him, and then I settled him in to finish eating on the other side. No sooner than he started in on nursing and he blew out AGAIN! All over my other leg. River felt great after that. Me? No spare pants, a super soaked pair of jeans plastered to my body, and an hour's drive ahead. I'm not sure how I'll get him back for that, but I will. I will.

In what way do you struggle to be "green"?

I wish I didn't have to drive everyday. If I could only find a rickshaw and someone willing to pull it.

Mama to: Zoë, age 2 years, Calvin 2 months
Hometown: Coeur d'Alene, Idaho
At gDiapers: since November 2008

What has been your worst diaper experience?

I guess my worst diaper experience really included no diaper at all! My sister, bless her heart, ec'd (the practice Elimination Communication – google it ;) her 2nd and 3rd children. The idea behind ec'ing is great – when it works. And unfortunately I have to report that, as well as it did work during the potty training years, during the infant years, there were many surprises, er, accidents! And many of them ended up on my lap.

Why did you come to work for gD?

I love the whole idea of gDiapers – from the top down. I love that it is a green, family-centered, family friendly company. I love that the goal of the company is to make this earth a better place. I love that the people who work for gD are a group of passionate, vibrant and intelligent people – who better to work with – and for - than that??

In what way do you struggle to be "green"?

For many years now my family has wanted to start composting. For some reason, though, every time spring comes around and we start thinking about it again, there is something to distract us, something to take our mind off of it, and we just never get it done. This year, mark my words, we'll do it, though!

What has been your worst diaper experience?

During my interview with gDiapers, I had my 3 month old Zephyr with me and he had to have his diaper changed. While his diaper was being changed, he decided it was time to pee…all over Kim and Jason's office. Somehow they still hired me!
