Spring is knocking on the door here in Portland and we’re thinking about changing our babies out of fleece and snow gear and into something a little more cotton-forward. As their tender skin gets ready for another season’s turn, we’re so pleased to introduce new Gentle Wipes to gDiapers.com. In reformulating our new wipes, simplicity was the goal. We’ve included only what you need to get the job done, in the gentlest formula for baby’s skin.
At gDiapers we’ve always believed that small acts can add up to big change. Over the past four years, the Big Latch On has shown how a grassroots, community-based event can get global fast. A Big Latch On event is simple—a group of women come together at a registered location to ‘latch on’ (breastfeed) their babies at a set time and raise their hands to be counted. Friends are made, fun is had, and every year breastfeeding records are broken. It’s fun and simple, but powerful.
Brian and Elsa are soon-to-be first-time parents who hail from the Instagram-worthy state of Maine. As the days tick up to their due date, waiting has taken a front row seat by the woodstove in their 800-square foot cabin. “While we may be mediocre at preparation, at least we’ve got anticipation down.” The anticipation has looked a bit like this:
Carrie, Cooper and big sister, Hattie, have recently welcomed a brand new adventurer to the family! Baby Hobbes arrived fashionably early, a week ahead of schedule. Just as Cooper was readying to set out with a friend for the inaugural day of hunting season, Carrie’s water broke. It was game on, (just not the game that Cooper had intended for the day!).
Hobbes’ brand new bum has been comfortably covered with the newborn gPants since day one. And though it’s too cold now to compost, the disposable inserts are flushable, which means with 6-8 changes a day (or a package a week), the garbage can isn’t overflowing.
You can’t control the waves of the ocean, but you can certainly learn to ride them. Few experiences ever turn out exactly as you plan them, a lesson Jess and James have learned early. From Rocket making her debut ahead of schedule while in port in Mexico, to a quick trip to Mexico City to secure vital travel documents for a brand new baby, to hopping a flight to Canada to introduce her to family, it has been one wave after the next. Which, of course, is what waves do. They just keep coming.
