One might think that diapers would be the simplest decision a parent could make for their baby. Diapers only have one function after all: make sure baby’s waste doesn’t end up all over the place.
It used to be an incredibly simple decision. You used what was available (which probably meant an absorbent piece of cloth and a sturdy rubber pant). But then someone had to jump in there and make it all complicated by adding OPTIONS for goodness sake. It’s become a battle royale. Diaper vs diaper. Cloth diapers vs disposable diapers. And ohmyword then there’s ANOTHER choice with gDiapers, which is a hybrid of both.
Thank you to Christine, who shared with us a photo of her changing station. Man oh man what we’d give to be as organized as Christine! What’s on your changing station? What does your diaper disposal system look like? Send us your pics. Or post them to Pinterest with #gdiapers.
You know that video that makes you go “aww…” and “cool!” and makes your heart swell just a little and compels you to hit share? We hope this one gets you that way. Cause it sure got us that way. Which is why we’re hitting share right here. Because with so many changes a day, diapering should be a beautiful ritual.
What kinds of videos would you like to see from gDiapers? Leave a comment. We’re always open to suggestion. Plus, making videos is pretty dang fun.
Sure, we switched the order around a bit. But reduce, reusable diapers and recycle just didn’t have the same ring to it. So what’s this all about then? Why a blog post dedicated to reusable diapers? First, when it comes to gDiapers, there are two ways to interpret what it means to be a reusable diaper. The diaper cover (gPants) is reusable. So no matter if you use a disposable insert or a cloth insert, you’ll still always be re-using at least that part of it. And then naturally, if you’re inclined to go with cloth, well then you truly are opting for a completely reusable diaper option.
So what is a hybrid diaper? Where did it come from? One that comes with a cord so it can be plugged in to re-charge at night? Ha. Not quite. But that would make a pretty fun DIY project for you savvy seamstresses (and electricians).
gDiapers are the original hybrid diaper. They were invented by an innovative mama in Tasmania. She wanted to create a diaper with two insert options: one flushable, one washable and reusable. Voila. A hybrid diaper. The best of both worlds.
